About Matahui Lodge

"We, Trevor and Kay Mitchell, owners of Matahui lodge, take great pleasure in ensuring your stay with us is relaxing and enjoyable."

Whether you have chosen Matahui Lodge for a romantic hideaway, a small corporate retreat or a special occasion, our exceptional hospitality, prime location and luxurious accommodation will leave you with only fond memories of your stay with us. As a professional couple we have a great passion for fine food and wine, golf, art collecting and literature, and this is reflected in our carefully designed, elegantly furnished, Matahui Lodge. Here at Matahui Lodge we pride ourselves on ensuring your culinary needs are met and encourage you to meander through our small vineyard, make use of our golfing facilities, or enjoy a range of literature in our library. For details on our rooms and facilities please visit the pages listed under your stay.

Our location
Matahui Lodge is ideally located on six acres of manicured grounds overlooking Tauranga’s inner harbour just 25 minutes north of Tauranga central, and only five minutes south of Katikati in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. For full directions and a map, please visit our contact page.

Responsible tourism

We aim to minimise our impact on the environment. To assist with this, we use, as much as possible, only eco-friendly products in our cleaning and laundry. Our toiletries are also recognised as eco-friendly. We have recycling practices for which we seek guests co-operation, and we monitor our energy usage. Every effort is made to source locally grown products and our menus reflect a seasonal influence. We are constantly reviewing our procedures and would welcome any constructive ways in which we can improve our operation to both the guest's and our own advantage. If you are concerned about the impact of your traveling, we are able to offer the facility to plant a native tree. We are happy to supply details.
